One of my favorite Photoshop tips

You ever paste something into photoshop that’s much bigger than your current canvas? It takes up all of your canvas but then you can’t see the edges to size it up right. Big time suck.

But, there’s a little trick I learned a long time ago I thought I’d share with you:

  • Once you paste in your too-big-for-canvas thing, you press command + T to transform the big thing,
  • then you press command + 0 to fit the current everything in the window.
  • Now you can select the bounding box at the bottom to resize it!
  • Press command + 1 to go back to Actual Pixels size.

Here’s what happens:

Paste in the big thing. Oh no, it’s too big!

Press command + T to transform the thing

But I can’t reach all the way to the bottom of it from here to resize it!??

Press command + 0 to fit all the stuffs in the window. Now you can resize it!

Press command + 1 to go back to exact size. Bam!

This lil’ tip saves me loads of time everyday. Hope it helps you too.
