My buddy Don Miller and I are doing a podcast called The Post Evangelical. Here’s the gist:
“A podcast capturing conversations between two friends: one a best-selling Christian author and the other a former worship-leader who is (mostly) no longer a Christian.”
I’m not the writer.
I’ve been looking to find a good outlet to explore what’s left of my spirituality for a while. This podcast is proving to be a much better vehicle for that than I expected.
I was a big time Jesus guy for a long time; we were basically married. Now we’re seeing other people.
But I still really care about how I live my life (maybe more than ever). So I have processing to do; sorting through the rubble of my previous thoughts to see what remains, what’s worth keeping.
Because I think there’s a good deal worth keeping. Like I said, Jesus and I are seeing other people… we still really respect each other. I wouldn’t put it past us to accidentally hook up late one night after some fresh conversation and sangria at a friend’s party.
Also, I have a great partner in this podcast. Turns out Don’s this big writer guy (Blue Like Jazz is still a favorite). So he’s good at these kinds of thoughts. And he helps me not be a jackass all the time.
So, this podcast, it’s going to be good… at least for me. Also, I don’t think I’m alone in this. So it may be good for you or some of your friends too.
When’s it coming out? We’ve recorded several episodes so far. We’ll probably launch it when we’ve got 26 (a podcast every 2 weeks for a year). So, likely late this year or early next year.
Go checkout the site and sign up to be notified of new stuff when it comes out. Also, maybe contact us and tell us what you think we should talk about.
thx. make good choices

High Five to this! No high five for having to wait 6 months…
HA – Looking forward to it… My phase as a single Dad who’s accustom to dating again .. ‘I like Jesus, and just not too crazy about his kids’.
The millisecond I read about this on Don’s site I signed up. I have been living right where you are Chase for more than a decade. I know, seems impossibly long to linger in spiritual limbo but it has been the most intensely intellectual and spiritual passage I could have imagined for myself. Hurts like hell too :-/
If you’re ever up for a 3rd in the conversation, I’d be a great phone-in guest ;)
Looking forward to the podcast, very much.
